Between establishing religion with the recent vote to reaffirm "In God We Trust" and the blatant disregard for the right to peacefully assemble involving excessive force used by the police, the United States government has repeatedly shown that the First Amendment no longer applies to our country. As a result, I ask that the lawmakers in this country bring this to the forefront. I ask that you either officially repeal the protections built into the First Amendment that seem to no longer apply or work to reinforce the rights of the people by condemning these acts as violations of the US Constitution.
