There was a time and place for this act but in today's world, this is unneccessary. When President's leave office, they sign multi-million book deals and make millions on public speaking engagements. There is absolutely no need for the people of the United States to pay millions for their pension, office space, office staff, travel, telephone, printing, etc. Last year, the taxpayers spent $890,000 for Clinton and George W. Bush to each have over 8,000 square feet of office space. Why does George Bush need $27,000 for "Printing" or better yet, $102,000 for "Telephones" in one year?
Security should be kept, there are too many crazies out there.
I understand in the grand scheme of things and 3.5M dollars in one year isn't much to trillions in deficit, but it's a start.
