Repeal the Hartley-Taft amendment to Wagner Act of 1935- its anti-union sentiments have weakened private sector unions

Created by A.F. on December 12, 2014

The Hartley-Taft Amendment removes vital union protections from the Wagner Act of 1935 such as:

outlawed sit-down strikes
political and solidarity strikes
secondary boycotts
allowed permanent replacements for striking workers
allowed said replacements to vote to De-certify said Union

This amendment serves as a gross injustice to workers who fought long and hard for the rights many of us enjoy today as workers. The Flint, MI strikes in 1936-37 against GM for better working conditions and pay are one such example of the Wagner Act protecting said rights. Strengthening private sector unions strengthens the middle class- don't believe the lies of large corporations about unionization. They said it once before, they'll keep saying it now.
