Now is the time to repeal the Hatch Act, which states employees (civil servants) in the executive branch of the federal government (except the President & Vice President) "may not be a candidate for nomination or election to public office in a partisan election."
The Hatch Act singles out civil servants as the only group of people in the United States not allowed to exercise their constitutional right to run for partisan elected office at any level - local, state, or federal - and in any location within the United States. This is neither democratic or American.
Now is the time when America needs its best and brightest people to run for elected office - no matter who their employer is. Sign this petition today to make sure EVERYONE has the same opportunity to run for elected office.
