Repeal the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010

Created by L.R. on November 11, 2012

The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 is severely flawed. This act assumes that High School students are all exactly the same in calorie consumption. This act assumes that children are able to receive the food they require outside of school as well. According to teachers many students do not receive this food. Teenagers require anywhere from 1,800 to 3,000 calories a day, and this provision only allows for 850 at most for lunch. Teenagers have protested this Act. It should be the decision of the parents, and the student, how many calories the student can eat.
