The American public during the past 11 years has endured a slow erosion of their civil liberties and basic rights all in the name of "national safety and security."
H.R.347 continues this disturbing trend by altering the wording of Section 1752 Title 18, United States Code. The new law now states that if you happen to enter an area that is restricted by the Secret Service due to a presidential visit, or other visit by any "important persons" who have requested Secret Service protection, you are committing a felony, regardless of whether or not you are aware that the Secret Service is in the area.
It is my belief that this has been politically motivated by the Occupy Protests and is a thinly veiled attempt to further limit our 1st Amendment rights.
