H.R. 347 was passed with little public debate, virtually in secret. It threatens to detain protesters and charge them with a felony AT THE SECRET SERVICE'S DISCRETION if they feel that a protester is impeding government proceedings. It says that protesters within prominent government areas or anywhere near an official protected by the secret service--if they are perceived to be threatening or an impediment to government business--can be charged with a felony.
It is important for Americans to not let their freedom of assembly to be eroded in this manner.
Repeal this law and restore our constitutional right to freedom of speech and assembly!
