In 1986 as a part of the Firearm Owner's Protection Act the possession and manufacture of "fully automatic" firearms to the general public was banned under H.R. 4332. This ban constitutes a violation of the Constitution of the United States and through this act the price of legal registered machine guns has driven up the cost through supply and demand. Therefore denying accessibility to arms to poorer citizens results in higher crime rates and equal protection under the law.
I) In D.C. vs Heller The subsection that defined banning handguns, an entire “class of arms,” to be unconstitutional bears resemblance to the banning of automatic weapons, which defined by the NFA are an “entire class of firearms.”
