We the people petition that Congress and President Obama pass and sign legislation to repeal the Hughes Amendment to the Firearm Owners Protection Act. This amendment, which bans civilian ownership and manufacturing of machine guns made after May 19, 1986, does not improve public safety in any way, and only serves to burden lawful gun owners wishing to own fully automatic firearms.
