In light of research presented at the 109th annual meeting of the American Sociological Association showing the failure of the Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act, we the people petition the government to repeal this law passed in 2003. Academic research has now illuminated evidence that the law is in direct contrast to reducing harm. The law was attached as a rider to the AMBER Alert bill and was never put to debate, and has constricted freedom of peaceful assembly.
We the people petition the government to render this law null, and in its place set in motion an initiative for public debate and scientific research into harm reduction to inform future public policy.
