This freedom ended due to Lyndon Johnson and John McCormack limiting the freedoms of 501c3 organizations. Any non-profit organization falling under 501c3 prior to 1954 was allowed to support and speak for or against and political candidate or action they deemed appropriate. After 1954, this right was taken away by Johnson and the Democrats.
The American people demand this right to free speech by all persons and organizations, regardless of tax filing status be reinstated.
