On February 13th, 2014, Kansas passed a sweeping bill allowing state-wide anti-gay discrimination on the basis of "religious liberty". Basically, the law allows any business owner or government employee to refuse to service any gay/lesbian/queer couple if they don't want to. In example, if a queer couple calls the police while they are in an emergency situation, the police don't have to respond. If a couple shows up at a hospital and one of them is gravely injured or needs immediate medical attention, the hospital can turn them away.
There are so many more issues resulting from this bill's passing but the nightmare needs to end, and it can only end with direct intervention of the United States Federal Court System stepping in and stopping this.
