This petition is for all retirees under Civil Service Retirement System and had gone back to work under the Social Security System. Due to Windfall elimination, retirees who went back to work in the private sector and pay FICA taxes thereof, are not afforded the right to receive the full amount of pension after attaining the required forty (40) credits and retire under the private sector.
The same situation is affecting all retirees whose spouses are receiving SSS pension benefits: their share of spouses' pension is either non existent or reduced to minimum due to Government Pension Offset (GPO).
REPEALING BOTH THE WINDFALL ELIMINATION AND THE GPO WILL DEFINITELY AND TREMENDOUSLY ALLEVIATE THE FINANCIAL STANDING OF ALL RETIREES IN THE GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE SECTOR.
