Thousands of dogs are euthanized each year due to laws banning breeds in specific areas of the United States. Pitt bulls, bully breeds, are targeted for a unjust reputation that has been bestowed upon them by irresponsible dog owners. This murdering of dogs due to a type of breed is a form of genocide, which is defined as the deliberate and systematic extermination of a specific racial, national or cultural group. Why can't this be compared to that? Each year hundreds of family pets, who have done no wrong, are being "euthanized" for no defined reason. Euthanasia is killing to relive pain and suffering of the individual. These dogs have not suffered, their only crime was being loved by their family. This petition is for the outright ban of laws prohibiting specific breeds of dogs.
