Ethanol is made from food source, which directly competes with those for animal feed and human consumption. This will unnecessarily raise food prices. Food is for human consumption, not burning in a combustion engine. Also, ethanol production causes more harm to the environment than conventional fossil fuel. Now is the time to stop subsidizing ethanol and ban it altogether.
