REPEAL THE MANDATORY 1500 HOUR PILOT TIME REQUIREMENT FOR PILOTS TO SERVE AS A FIRST OFFICER/CREW-MEMBER

Created by J.C. on January 27, 2013

Repeal the congress mandate that a commercial pilot hold 1500 hours minimum time to serve for scheduled air carriers. Let the businesses decide for themselves who they can hire and what time minimums they require. The regulation, as it stands, bars a fresh commercial pilot with 250 hours of total time from obtaining gainful employment with scheduled carriers taking no account whatsoever of the pilot skill.
