Repeal MI house bill #5958 That allows people of religious faith to discriminate against people not of their religion.

Created by D.R. on December 06, 2014

Michigan, nor anywhere else in the U.S. should become a theocracy. There is absolutely no reason that in 2014 a bill like this should pass that would allow people of a religious faith to discriminate against anyone who doesn't share their views.

If a bill like this passes business owners have the right to deny business to anyone that doesn't hold their religious views.

Examples:
A christian baker could refuse to make a wedding cake for a Jewish couple because it conflicts with the bakers' beliefs.

A barber of one faith can deny a haircut to someone of a different faith because it conflicts with their religion.

There are many more examples of why this bill should never be passed. Please sign this petition to keep MI, and the rest of the country, free of faith-based discrimination.
