In the state of Michigan, if you receive a traffic ticket, you will receive justice by going to court and paying a fine just like other states. Once the process is done in the courts, the Michigan department of treasury takes over and enforces additional fines and penalties on the same offense. This is double jeopardy. Double jeopardy is unconstitutional and I want to see this law repealed at the federal level so that other states can not follow Michigan lead in this way to extort money from Americans.
