Repeal NAFTA and raise import taxes to the point that companies who outsourced American jobs cannot afford to trade here

Created by B.T. on November 14, 2012

By raising import taxes to a point where it is no longer cost effective for American manufacturing companies to ship materials to Asia and then import goods back to the United States, we would force these companies back to American soil or cause them to lose a large percentage of sales to the largest consumer market in the world. In the event that these companies refuse to return these jobs to America, the import taxes would drive the cost of their goods up to a level where American small business could compete and thrive in the domestic marketplace. Individual citizens may have to pay more at the cash register for a time but that would be an acceptable price to pay for a thriving economy.
