Repeal the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012

Created by R.B. on February 12, 2012

We, the undersigned, hereby declare that the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2012, signed into law on December 31, 2011 by President Barack Obama, seriously damages and infringes upon the constitutional protections that are enshrined in our Bill of Rights.

Repeal the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012. This act, in Section 1021, directly violates Article 1, Section 9 of the US constitution, which guarantees US citizens the right to habeas corpus. The NDAA for Fiscal Year 2012 allows for the unlawful detainment of a US citizen if seen fit by the President. We oppose the NDAA's destruction of our right to habeas corpus.

The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.
