We the people demand congress to pass legislation repealing the National Firearms Act. This law is outdated, and serves no purpose to combat crime. It merely makes it much more difficult for law-abiding Americans to own certain firearms, such as short-barreled rifles and shotguns, as well as machine guns. By definition, a criminal is someone who disregards the law, meaning that these regulations serve no useful purpose for protecting Americans. Repealing this legislation will certainly not increase violent crime, and will simply allow law-abiding citizens to own these weapons without having to pass miles of red tape, including filling out mounds of paperwork, permission from a chief law enforcement officer, and a $200 tax stamp, a process that can take over 6 months. It is unnecessary.
