We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Repeal the National Firearms Act of 1934

Created by C.W. on September 28, 2016

The NFA is an unconstitutional and unnecessary act, requiring law abiding citizens to pay a burdensome tax of $200 to the ATF and wait months of processing anytime we want to legally obtain a rifle with a barrel shorter than 16 inches, a shotgun with a barrel shorter than 18 inches, or a sound suppressor. Shortening the barrel of any firearm lessens the velocity of the projectile and makes it less stable, which in turn makes the firearm less lethal and less accurate! Also, this is the 21st century, and firearm suppressors are becoming more and more popular mainly for hunters and target shooters who want to protect their hearing. We the people do not think we should be forced to pay a heavy tax to obtain firearms that are less effective or to protect our hearing. Repeal the NFA!
