The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 allows for highway funding to be withheld from states which do not keep their age of consumption and purchase of alcohol at 21. This issue should be decided on by each state individually. the NMDAA is a vestigial decree left over from a time when Americans were less educated about the physiological effects of alcohol.
We The People have the right to decide for our states whether the state-wide drinking age should be 18,19,20,21 or higher. The Constitution of the United States, under the 10th Amendment, allows for powers not granted to the federal, nor prohibited by state governments, to be reserved for the states (the people).
This petition is aimed at protecting states' rights granted by the constitution.
