The U.S. is one of the few countries left in the world to have a minimum legal drinking age as high as 21, rather than the more common age of 18. In a country where people can go to war and kill others at 18, or where people are given the responsibility of voting for the government officials who take part in running this country at 18, it is absolutely asinine that people can't enjoy a drink at 18 as well, especially while most of the rest of the world allows it. Results of having a drinking age of 21 include the growth of sales of fake IDs in the black market as well as an increase in underage people finding ways to drink illegally. The latter is especially a problem among college students, where, most of the time, there is not an adult that they are trying to hide their drinking from.
