Repeal the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984.

We petition the Obama Administration to repeal the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984. This act was an underhanded measure used by the federal government to force states to raise their respective drinking ages to 21 or otherwise face losses of millions of dollars in federal highway funding. Across the United States 18 to 20 year old adults responsibly enjoy alcohol every day just like their older counterparts, yet they face criminal prosecution and potentially life changing consequences if caught. In the United States 18 years olds are considered legal adults and can vote for political office, risk their lives at war, and enter into marriages, but they cannot legally drink alcohol. This is an injustice that needs to be rectified immediately through the repeal of this 1984 law.
