The age of consent is 16-18. The age one can be married is 18. The age one can enlist in the military to fight and die for this country is 18. The legal definition of an adult is one who is 18. Yet despite the claim that one is an adult at 18 years of age, citizens of this age are still not treated like adults.
The states once had their own drinking age laws and most of them set the drinking age at 18-19 years of age, but that all changed with the passing of the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984, which set the national drinking age at a worldwide high of 21, despite most nations having a drinking age of 16-18
It is time to treat adults like what they are, adults. Repeal or replace the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 and Let the states set their own drinking ages again.
