Repeal the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 and reduce the drinking age to 18

Created by A.Z. on April 09, 2015

In 1984, moral purists lobbied Congress to prohibit legal adults from purchasing alcohol, and succeeded. Americans who are old enough to vote, enlist in the military, marry, and own property cannot consume alcohol.

We believe the raising of the drinking age to 21 is an absurd, unjust, and failed social experiment that must be ended. We call on the federal government to repeal the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 and mandate all 50 U.S. states and integral territories lower their drinking age to 18.
