In 1984, congress passed the National Minimum Drinking Age Act. This act set the minimum drinking age to 21 years, with the withdrawal of ten percent of federal highway funds if any state had a minimum age below 21. We petition the government to repeal this act and allow the individual states to hold their own elections determining the drinking age. If Americans of legal age (18) can have all the liberties of full citizens as well as pay the ultimate price for the continuation of our freedom and country, these people should also be able to enjoy an alcoholic beverage.
