We ask the administration to repeal the National Minimum Drinking Age Act, and allow states to set their own minimum drinking ages accordingly, without any reduction to the funding they currently receive. If we are to take the European style as an example (commonly age 16 for beer and wine and 18 for liquors), we see how well we would benefit from a lowered drinking age. Younger people would become more accustomed to drinking from an earlier age, and would benefit from fewer accidents as a result. Repealing this law would also boost economies, as the sale of alcohol is bound to increase, and fewer criminals would be labeled as such.
