Drinking has been a key part of our family and social lives since the founding of our nation. While adults between 18 and 21 are allowed to drive, vote in elections and enlist to the military, it is unreasonable that they are banned from purchasing and publicly possessing alcohol, with the National Minimum Drinking Age Act punishing states that legislate otherwise.
We believe that drinking responsibly is the freedom of American adults, and that young adults should be trusted to make sound judgments on how much and when they would drink.
Therefore, we demand the Congress to repeal the National Minimum Drinking Age Act, so states can decide their drinking age without facing penalties. We also request that the President voice support for states to lower their minimum drinking ages to 18.
