The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 has had devastating affects on the children who have been educated since its creation. It's mandates of repeated standardized testing have created an environment that has left students unable to think critically and have the skills necessary to be successful in the real world. The abundance of testing has also left teachers with no choice but to teach exclusively to the test, leaving gaps in students knowledge. Along with the harmful effects from the increased testing NCLB, this act has removed extracurricular activities such as P.E., art, and recess, taking away opportunities from children to be well rounded. With the NCLB act America has had hardly any improvement in worldwide education rankings. Don't just leave children behind, help them succeed.
