The No Child Left Behind program has drastically changed the focus of our schools. Instead of educating our children and ensuring they leave with knowledge and a skillset important to living a well-rouded life, teachers are forced, at the risk of losing their jobs, to teach children to pass tests.
Even though these tests do hold a small amount of important knowledge, everything else, including sciences, history, and the arts, are being cut away to make room for "test taking techniques" that hold no meaning or advantage anywhere else in life.
We ask the Obama administration to recognize a failed policy in a very important part of our country, and ensure our country's future by offering the best education available.
