repeal or reduce the 1,500 flight hour minimum for the Airline Transport Pilot Rating instituted by the FAA.

In response to the 2009 crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407 outside of Buffalo, NY, the Federal Aviation Administration enacted a new rule that mandated 1,500 flight hours as a minimum for any candidate for the ATP license. This minimum is excessive and will soon cause a major pilot shortage at airlines across the United States if nothing is done.
