Petition is a demand to repeal the Patriot Act as the Act is destroying our constitution, freedoms and most importantly access to information. The Act allows governmental agencies to operate in secrecy without accountability to the people. Generally. access to information is allowed once an investigation is complete. Not so per the Patriot. The Patriot denies American Government transparency. It denies individuals and other governmental agencies access to critical information. For instance, Fema currently holds all records related to WWII munition sites. Less than a mile from my home in Oak Creek, WI, on the shores of Lake Michigan are a hundred acres of abandoned Dupont Chemicals manufacturing land. The site may contain buried canisters of Nerve Gas that the government never purchased.
