Repeal the Patriot Act.

Although the government protecting the safety of constituents is non-negotiable, the Patriot Act is unconstitutional. The act was put into effect after September 11th for reasons of national security, but it has given too much power to law enforcement officials. Most cases in which the Patriot Act defends the right of consented search and seizure are NOT matters of national security. The Patriot Act has become a safety net for malpractice among police officers. It shouldn't be legal for a policeman (or woman) to enter a most-likely law-abiding citizen's house simply because they 'looked suspicious'. If the act isn't repealed, it should at AT LEAST be amended to specify a time and place for utilizing it based on safety, NOT a police officer's whim to search someone off the street.
