The Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act was passed by Congress in 2006. The Act requires the United States Postal Service to fund their pension and health care funds for 75 years into the future in a 10 year window. The USPS does not receive Federal funds to operate and yet has made a profit prior to this Act being put in place. Further, the USPS subsidizes other package delivery services like UPS, FedEx, and DHL when those businesses refuse to deliver their packages to rural areas. No business would be expected to nor could it operate under these constraints. Ask the Obama Administration to support repealing PSEA so that the USPS can compete and thrive once again. The USPS is Constitutionally-mandated, the PSEA is not.
