For the past 50 years, the United States government has been stifling the American pickup market with the Chicken Tax. This tariff adds a 25% tax to the price of imported light trucks. the Chicken Tax has caused the US truck market to stagnate without competition. Higher fleet MPG and Dependence on oil would reduce if this tax were lifted.
