The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, being the ONLY guaranteed right conferred onto U.S. Citizens by our founding fathers that specifically states that it "shall not be infringed", has been so infringed. Whether or not you agree with having a firearm, the law is the law, and the meaning of this law is not only clear, but also precise in it's intent at that time, and precise in its future lawfulness.
The Congressional Bills, passed into law, subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court's past decisions do not pass the litmus test when compared to the simple verbiage of the 2nd Amendment.
The right to keep and bear arms, although much debated, is the same as debating whether we have the right to be free, or slaves. Repeal Pub Law 104–208, USC 922(g)(9) and try something else.
