repeal the punitive policies of the WEP/GPO to create Social Security Fairness for all Americans.

The reason for this Petition is to ask for a Repeal of the unfairly administered Social Security Policies of the WEP/GPO that impact between 2 and 3 million retired Educators, Police and Firemen, State Nurses and other Civil Service Workers. Because these workers have contributed to both Social Security and Private Pensions at different times during their working lives, up to 2/3 of their Social Security benefits and Survivor Benefits are lost because our Government deems it unfair for them to receive their full earned and contributed benefits from two entirely different Pensions. These Policies cost these dedicated workers hundreds of needed dollars each month and this loss causes many to live near the poverty line.
