Higher standards and better education are certainly noble goals. However, the administration's education policies are not based on sound research on how to produce better education. Instead, there is a great amount of rhetoric, mind-numbing standardized exams, and scare tactics for mostly hard-working, honest teachers. The focus on standardized testing has reduced rich opportunities to teach and develop critical thinking skills in our students.
Repeal RTTT and NCLB, and allow real educational scholars to draft an education policy that really makes sense for this country.
