Repeal the Railway Labor Act that makes it illegal for airline workers to strike without permission from the government.

Created by K.L. on March 20, 2013

The Railway Labor Act makes it illegal for airline workers to strike, in effect enslaving them. The National Mediation Board is supposed to mediate between Corporations and Unions to ether resolve disputes or release the workers to strike. However, the NMB has failed to resolve regional airline contract disputes, leaving workers without contracts and job protections for as long as six years and more. The National Mediation Board fails to resolve or release workers for self help, resulting in years of no-action and continued Corporate abuses. Then the public wonders why accidents happen as airlines squeeze workers that have no recourse or power to negotiate or change working conditions or demand safety. Workers should be free to organize & strike without the threat of being jailed or fired.
