The Reapportionment Act of 1929 established a limit on the House of Representatives at 435. Since then, the United States population has grown significantly, and the average representative represents over 600,000 people. A representative can not accurately represent that number of people. The size of the House needs to be increased, so that at least every 50,000 people are represented by a representative.
