Repeal the second amendment

Remove the right for Americans to bear arms. This is an antiquated and now out dated right and should no longer be protected by the constitution. Americans would still be allowed to own firearms, for hunting protection, collecting and fun but it would be a privilege and subject to licensing.
Belief that a firearm is necessary to protect Americans from their own government can now be considered anti American. When this amendment was added democracy was a new and untested form of government, it was reasonable to be suspicious of the government, but we have now had several hundred years of democracy to prove that we have the greatest form of government, this right is no longer needed, and in fact an armed insurrection against our government would be seen as treasonous under any circumstances
