Whereas the second amendment as written is misconstrued to provide for unregulated access for all manner of persons to all manner of weaponry.
Seeing that its intent was rather to provide for protection from sovereign intrusion.
Therefore the second amendment should be repealed from the U.S. Constitution. To be replaced if the people shall see fit with an amendment that rationally balances rights to bear firearms with the rights of the populace to be freed from the menace of rampant firearms crime.
