Repeal the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution

Gun control laws have not stopped the senseless killing, injuries, and suicides caused by firearms in the United States. We need to start with the root cause and then follow up with sensible gun control laws. Our top priority must be to repeal the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Then we can work to pass a national gun control bill that allows appropriate, registered firearms for hunting and target shooting but not for self-defense. No civilian should be allowed to own a military-style weapon. The 2nd Amendment is so badly written that it is frequently misinterpreted. The 2nd Amendment was written in an era when modern weaponry could not be conceived. It must be repealed because it does not fit current day circumstances with the availability of high-powered firearms.
