The Constitution is 227 years old and shows it's age in perhaps no greater manner than the Second Amendment. The 2nd amendment was written for different times and served it's purpose, however, weaponry and global politics have changed dramatically. There is no way the framers could've known of the astounding destructive force of todays publicly available weapons.
