Repeal of the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution was formulated for a different time and for a different country. Circumstances have changed, and the need to defend the country -- by arming the citizenry -- no longer exists.
Repealing this amendment would allow the states and/or federal government to enforce rational controls on gun possession, lowering the rate of senseless murder.
Allowing the amendment to stand as is guarantees a continual threat to the introduction of any such controls, however popular any regulation may become, or however clearly necessitated by the increasingly destructive effect on the American people of the current nearly unregulated access to all types of firearms.
