The "Farmer Assurance Provision" of the recent Appropriations Act illegally preemptively blocks the judicial branch from protecting consumers and farmers against GMO products that are found to be hazardous. It is unbelievable that Sen Blunt anonymously authored this piece of legislation with Monsanto and buried it in a bill that Congress had almost no choice but to vote for. Now Sen. Blunt is rallying against Sen. Markley who is trying to overturn this heinous legislation. This law allows the unrestricted sale and planting of GMO seeds that a court has ruled have not been properly examined for safety.
