Repeal the sixty-plus year ban on the sale of automatic knive.s

For over sixty years the right of the American citizen to own automatic or "switch-blade" knives has been prohibited. The ban served no purpose, prevented no crime, and was done under the absurd premise that "No decent person," would ever want to own one. This image was sparked by sensationalistic journalism, media images, and fear-mongering. Much like the now sunsetted Assault Weapon Ban of the Clinton era this law too serves no purpose but to prohibit lawful ownership of a relatively innocuous article. There would be no spike or dip in crime due to its repeal, it would enable the buying public to purchase a desired product and manufactuers the chance to sell said restricted product.
