Repeal the Sonny Bono Copyright Extension Term Act.

Passed in 1998, the act extended copyright coverage on creative properties from 50 to 70 years after the death of its creator. Furthermore, the act has come into question in the case of Eldred V. Ashcroft, which ruled that congress has the power to prolong copyright as long as it's set for limited periods of time, this is an oxymoron, being that they can go on extending as long as there is a due date in place. There was also a case, in Golan V. Holder, were it was ruled that works can be pulled out of public domain, and placed back under copyright protection. This act restricts information to the public, hinders artistic growth, and benefits only large corporations and family members who shouldn't have claim to another's work. The act is counter productive and should be repealed.
